Health Checkpoint Sets a New Record for Flu Shots

Health Checkpoint has given over 27,000 flu shots in winter 2006-7, setting a new record in Monroe and Ontario counties. It was estimated that eighty percent of area seniors received vaccinations and, increasingly, entire families are seeking them too. Over 4,500 employees at the University of Rochester received shots. Public clinics at firehouses, town halls, a supermarket, and even a racetrack, attracted many others, with up to six nurses at each location. Eva Bellis, director of Health Checkpoint, reports that about 150 companies employed the service.
